Norm's Rotor Service tower outfitted with 

Wireless Vantage Pro2 Plus™ with 24-Hr Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield

Shown mounted on our tower is a Vantage Pro2 Plus which includes these features found on all Vantage Pro 2 standard models.  The standard features are an integrated sensor suite (ISS)  which include a rain collector (a), temperature (b) and humidity (c) sensors.  The standard anemometer (d) is shown mounted further up the tower using the 40' anemometer cable (included) to connect it to the ISS.  All weather data from the ISS is transmitted (e) wirelessly up to 1000', using frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology @ 902-928 MHz. 8mW FCC certified low power. Typical range through walls under most conditions is 200' to 400'.  This transmitter is solar powered with a small backup battery (for heavy overcast days) that typically last about 2 years 

In addition to the Vantage Pro standard features above our Vantage Pro Plus version has the additional lower housing containing the temperature and humidity sensors in a 24 Hr fan aspirated radiation shield  This shield combines fan aspiration (f) and passive shielding (g) to minimize the effects of solar radiation. The plus version also comes with solar radiation (h) and UV sensors (h) on a sensor mounting shelf. The additional power required for these features is provided by a second solar panel (i).
